I am most proud of the professionalism, integrity and commitment our auditors demonstrate every day. Beyond delivering high-quality audits, they work together to support clients, mentor colleagues and contribute positively to the communities we serve.

What makes me most proud of our auditors is their commitment to quality, integrity, continuous improvement and the culture we've built at BDO. Just as importantly, they do it while fostering a collaborative, people-first culture where individuals support one another, share knowledge and are invested in each other's success. Technologies such as AI, data analytics and automation are helping auditors analyse larger volumes of information, identify patterns more effectively and focus their time on higher-value activities. This improves efficiency, enhances quality and allows us to deliver deeper insights for our clients.
But while technology is changing how we work, it won't replace what makes auditors valuable. Human judgement, professional scepticism, ethical decision-making and the ability to understand context remain essential. Technology can help surface risks and opportunities, but people determine what those insights mean and how they should be acted upon. The future of audit isn't about humans versus technology; it's about combining the best of both to deliver even greater quality and value.
