The profession is changing quickly, and our people are changing with it. What I love about BDO USA’s Grow Together strategy is that we're investing in the skills that will matter most in the future, including technology, data, leadership, critical thinking, and the ability to collaborate across teams and disciplines to solve increasingly complex challenges. But while the tools may change, the qualities that define a great auditor do not: integrity, judgment, and a commitment to quality.

Sometimes that means asking tough questions or challenging assumptions. It takes candidness and courage to do that well. But that's exactly what makes auditing so important. We help turn information into confidence and confidence into trust.
Auditors don't create the numbers. We help create confidence in them.
The most powerful technology in an audit is still the ability to ask a great question.
Technology is helping us see more, analyse more, and focus more on the areas that matter most. From data analytics to artificial intelligence, innovation is making audits more effective and helping our teams work with greater ease and focus.
But the future of auditing will always be human-led. Technology can identify a risk, but it can't apply judgment. It can't understand context. And it can't replace the curiosity that drives auditors to ask, "Does this make sense?"
That's why I believe the future isn't about people versus technology. It's about great people using great technology to build even greater trust.
