Our approach to sustainability is grounded in our WHY – People helping people. It shapes how we respond to the expectations of our stakeholders, including clients, employees, investors, regulators and the communities where we do business.
This purpose guides the actions we take to inspire, educate and lead more sustainable business practices – both across our markets and within our own organisation.
We take a long‑term view, recognising that we operate in an increasingly complex and interconnected world. From climate change, human rights and employee wellbeing to diversity and inclusion, ethical conduct and supply‑chain resilience, the risks and opportunities facing businesses continue to evolve.
Against this backdrop, expectations around transparency and accountability in environmental, social and governance (ESG) matters are growing. Our role is to understand our impacts, respond effectively and support our clients to do the same – helping them identify risks, strengthen resilience and seize opportunities for sustainable growth.
In 2021, we pledged to support the goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 or sooner, in line with the Paris Agreement. Our 2025 Net-Zero Progress Report gives details of our global carbon footprint and highlights the actions we're taking to embed our net-zero programme across BDO.
