Imran is the Co-Leader of BDO’s Insurance Industry Group and has more than 20 years of experience providing assurance services to public and privately held companies.  Imran has been with BDO since 1996, primarily focusing on audits of insurance companies. His clients include several large multinational property and casualty and life insurance companies. Over the last 12 years, Imran has successfully transitioned various large and small clients from Big Four firms to BDO.  In addition to providing technical guidance and assisting various BDO offices on insurance accounting matters, he is also responsible for training and continuing professional education (CPE) programs for the New York insurance group.
 
Imran has in-depth knowledge of the Model Audit Rule and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404. His experience includes providing technical assistance for mergers and acquisitions, conducting due diligence studies, and delivering Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) 16 audits. Imran has extensive Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting experience and has worked with various clients on initial public offerings (IPOs), secondary offerings, and private placements of debt and equity instruments. His experience also includes SOX implementations and on-going internal control assessments and reviews.
