March 2026 IFRIC Update available

The Update of IFRS Interpretations Committee’s (IFRIC or the Committee) March 2026 meeting has been made available. The Committee met in London on 17 to 18 March 2026.

Various matters were discussed during the meeting. The most recent questions raised to the Committee include:
  • Control over a Single-investor fund (IFRS 10 Consolidated Financial Statements)
  • Reassessment of Control (IFRS 10)
The Committee discussed the feedback on a number of tentative agenda decisions and concluded its discussions. These agenda decisions will be considered by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) at a future meeting. If the IASB does not object to the agenda decisions, these agenda decisions will be published in an addendum to this IFRIC Update. These agenda decisions include:
  • Classification of a Foreign Exchange Difference from an Intragroup Monetary Liability (or Asset) (IFRS 18 Presentation and Disclosure in Financial Statements)
  • Economic Benefits from Use of a Battery under an Offtake Arrangement (IFRS 16 Leases)
  • Assessment of a Specified Main Business Activity for the Purposes of the Separate Financial Statements of a Parent (IFRS 18)
  • Scope of the Requirement to Disclose Expenses by Nature (IFRS 18)
  • Classification of Gains and Losses on a Derivative Managing a Foreign Currency Exposure (IFRS 18)
  • Presentation of Taxes or Other Charges that Are Not Tax Expense or Tax Income Applying IAS 12 Income Taxes (IFRS 18 Presentation and Disclosure in Financial Statements)
