ISSB opens consultation on proposed nature-related disclosures
The International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) has published proposals for nature-related disclosures and is asking for feedback until 19 February 2027.
The proposals are intended to help companies provide investors with material information about nature-related risks and opportunities, as well as material information about how dependencies and impacts on nature create those risks and opportunities.
The proposals build on IFRS S1 General Requirements for Disclosure of Sustainability-related Financial Information and draw extensively on the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) framework, including its emphasis on location and interactions with Indigenous Peoples, Local Communities and affected stakeholders.
The proposals are presented as a Practice Statement. The ISSB is also asking whether the final guidance should remain a Practice Statement or be issued in another form, such as a standard.
More details are available in the press release.
