IPSASB seeks input on strengthening the presentation of financial statements
The International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB) has published a Consultation Paper seeking feedback on proposals to enhance the presentation of financial statements in the public sector.
The project aims to develop a new IPSAS Accounting Standard that would replace IPSAS 1 Presentation of Financial Statements and reflects stakeholder requests for clearer and more effective communication of financial information in general purpose financial statements. The consultation paper includes an illustrative exposure draft that has been developed using IFRS 18 Presentation and Disclosures in Financial Statements as its base.
The IPSASB is inviting stakeholder input on how presentation can be improved by 14 September 2026.
The press release and supplementary materials may be accessed here.
