IFRS Foundation Trustees announce five-year plan
The IFRS Foundation Trustees have approved a five-year operating and financing plan to support the long-term sustainability of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). The plan includes diversifying funding sources for the IASB and providing a pathway to stable long-term funding for the ISSB as adoption of its standards continues to grow.
The Trustees also announced that Geneva will become the seat of the ISSB, with a new office expected to open in 2027, complementing the Board’s existing offices in Beijing, Frankfurt, Montreal and Tokyo. In addition, proposed amendments to the IFRS Foundation Constitution have been released for public comment until 16 November 2026, including plans to reduce the size of both the IASB and ISSB to 10 members from 2028.
