Basel Committee proposes framework to address climate-related financial risks to the global banking

The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision has proposed a Pillar 3 disclosure framework to address climate-related financial risks to the global banking system. The framework would build on the IFRS (ISSB) sustainability standards with more detailed disclosure requirements for the international banking sector, with some disclosures mandatory and others subject to national discretion.
The proposed framework is open for consultation until 29 February 2024.
The consultation document may be accessed here.
