BDO appoints new Head of the Global Industry Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT)

BRUSSELS, 1 April 2022 : The Global Office of BDO’s accounting and business advisory firm appoints Teresa Morahan, as the first female Head of the Global Industry Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT)

To date, Teresa Morahan was Head of Audit at BDO in Ireland, specialising in the provision of audit and accounting advisory services (IFRS, Irish and US GAAP) and working with a range of clients, including large international (and listed) groups.  She also headed the Technology Industry Group and has been an integral member of the global TMT industry team, since the very start. 

Outgoing leader Scott Rodie, who will retire end of March, comments: “I’m thrilled that Teresa will be taking over leading the TMT team. For several years now, Ireland has become a true global technology hub and a significant country for Technology companies.  Teresa has been involved in many international projects and has the expertise needed to lead an industry, which is at the core of business transformation and will continue to drive economic recovery.”

BDO recently launched its tech predictions for 2022 and will work with its clients to manage the digital-driven evolution of issues which impact the sector including the consolidation in the market, tax changes, global value chain and attracting and retaining top talent.

Technology, Media and Telecoms is a key area of focus for BDO globally. The BDO TMT team with representatives in more than 160 territories assists technology companies from start-ups to some of the world’s biggest multinationals with a broad range of services.

Commenting on her appointment, Teresa adds: “I am delighted to be taking over from Scott, who has done a fantastic job building out the team. TMT is an area which has thrived throughout the pandemic.  Having gained valuable experience over the years, I am looking forward to driving growth in such a crucial sector.”

Teresa will remain based in Dublin  and will continue to work with clients in the technology sector.
