Shaping what matters beyond compliance: Betania's journey at BDO Argentina

Betania Tamassi
Consulting Director - Banking
BDO Argentina

For Betania, work has always been more than a job title. She was drawn to consulting because it brings an intellectual challenge, and because building something from the ground up requires curiosity, focus, and a willingness to learn as you go. Over time, what mattered just as much was finding a place that felt right on a people level.

I was attracted by the professional proposition and the intellectual challenge. I stayed because I found a place where I truly want to be in: the warmth of the people and the commitment turned my workplace into a place I love.

Her day-to-day work focuses on the kind of contribution that holds up over time. For her, doing the work well means bringing knowledge and technical judgment to decisions that have real impact, not just checking a box. It also means paying attention to sustainability, clarity, and trust, while keeping an eye on balance: how people work, grow, and stay well.

She sees the future in a similar way: strengthening decision-making and management frameworks, promoting good practices, and supporting organisations as they grow responsibly, without losing sight of the people behind the results.

For me, shaping what matters means putting knowledge, technical judgment, and professional responsibility at the service of decisions that create real and sustainable impact, without losing sight of personal balance.

Space to challenge and take initiative

Betania describes a work style that is proactive by nature. She’s encouraged when there is room to question existing approaches, propose improvements, and bring a critical perspective, not as a “nice to have,” but as part of doing quality work. That kind of trust gives her the freedom to stay curious, anticipate risks and opportunities, and connect ideas across topics.

For her, thinking beyond is practical. It’s about understanding the context behind an analysis, spotting what could be better, and proposing approaches that are more efficient and sustainable, so the work supports better decision-making in the real world.
