BDO Corporate Finance successfully assisted Sopadis, a subsidiary of Group D’Ieteren, in the acquisition of Group Bruynseels and Garage Clissen, two Volkswagen- and Audi-dealers. The acquisitions are part of the implementation of D’Ieteren’s market area strategy.
D’ieteren Auto is the Belgian market leader in vehicle distribution with more than 125.000 new vehicles delivered in 2017. Since 2015 the company is engaged in a major restructuring of its Belgian distribution network. Consistent with this restructuring, the Group’s 2017 Activity Report mentions that mergers and acquisitions were proceeding smoothly, and that most of the planned mergers should be completed by the end 2018. The acquisition of the two VW/Audi-dealers by Sopadis are part of the implementation of this market area strategy. BDO Corporate Finance acted as financial advisor to Sopadis for both transactions.
