Daphna Smuckler was appointed Global Head of Assurance and Accounting in September 2022.
In this role, Daphna is focused on enhancing audit quality, advancing market growth, and accelerating the audit digital transformation. She is also highly committed to placing people at the centre of all strategies.
With over 27 years of experience, Daphna has served in various leadership roles. Prior to assuming this role, Daphna was the Leader of BDO's assurance and accounting (A&A) practice in Canada and a member of BDO's Executive Leadership Team. She was responsible for providing leadership and direction to BDO's A&A practice driving the Canadian firm's strategic initiatives. She also served as chair of BDO Canada's Board. As an Audit Partner, Daphna served private and public clients working with company’s ranging from early-stage development to multi-national corporations.
She is also a passionate supporter of creating a diverse and inclusive work environment. To support the Canadian firm’s talent strategy, Daphna spearheaded the launch of BDO Canada’s first diversity and inclusion program. She continues to enjoy opportunities to coach and mentor people to help reach their full potential.
